📖 THE STORY
Once every four years, the lowest tide of the year exposes a sea cave on a black northern coast. Inside it lies a kingdom deliberately drowned four hundred years ago — nine terraces of stone and bronze, stacked and chained beneath the water. A survey team enters with eleven hours before the door closes. Then the entrance collapses behind them.

Rhea, a marine archaeologist, must climb upward through the flooded city to the only exit at the top — while the water rises beneath her, and something ancient moves through the halls. Maren is not a monster. She is the guardian the city was built to imprison, and she has been holding back the sea alone for four centuries. Now the chains are failing, and Rhea has to decide whether the thing hunting her is the enemy — or the only one who can save them all.
