With the law behind him and bandits all around him, Brant secretly works to prevent robberies, protect the innocent, and clear his name. His growing friendship with fellow outlaw Bob Jones, their rivalry over Sally Blake, and a final test of courage lead to a memorable story of honor, sacrifice, and redemption.

Made during John Wayne’s formative years, Sagebrush Trail offers the pleasures of an early black-and-white Western: galloping horses, stagecoach chases, gunfights, an underground hideout, practical stunt work, and a complete adventure in under an hour. The film also features legendary stunt pioneer Yakima Canutt.
