RUS-T was built to follow orders. But on a remote outpost on Mars, one final mission changes everything. Abandoned by the people he was created to serve, RUS-T must confront his duty, his purpose, and a rapidly closing window for survival.

RUS-T is a science-fiction short film about duty, betrayal, abandonment, and survival, told through the story of a robot faced with an impossible mission.

Director Statement
The film was made with Reallusion AI Studio. The character was developed as a 3D asset using Reallusion Character Creator and became a key component to adapting the character to an AI Actor. The AI Actor was able to exist throughout my world and through each shot. The frames were first prompted and generated with Nano Banana with the source AI Actor. The world, and interiors were created with multiple camera angles in Nano Banana. The hovercraft was Meshy and the multiview image used as a character sheet for the recurring appearances and cargo. The video was generated with Seedance 2.0 using the prepared images as a start frame and as additional image elements to reference in the prompting. The action was achieved through cinematic prompt refinement with ChatGpt.

Director Biography - John C Martin II

John Martin is a filmmaker, producer, and digital storyteller exploring the intersection of cinematic storytelling, 3D production, performance capture, and generative AI. With more than two decades of experience in filmmaking and digital production, he has focused on using emerging technologies to create characters, performances, and worlds that serve the story.

John is Vice President of Marketing at Reallusion, where he has spent more than two decades working with real time animation, digital humans, performance capture, and strategically with Character Creator, iClone, and AI Studio.

Collaborations include projects with ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Disney, Warner Bros., Netflix, Industrial Light & Magic, Digital Domain, Sony Pictures, Meta, and Fremantle.
